LOL, I know what this is. I've never actually heard a full track all the way through before though.

This could easily be used as a form of torture to successfully extract intelligence from the most hardened of the world's criminals.

Just hearing it once has made me a bit nauseous. I?m afraid if I ever hear it again I may involuntarily shove sharp pencils into my ears.

(By the way, hi All. First post.)

its from a group called the shaggs. they were on a thread about worst album covers, i think. anyway, its 3 girls and whose father made them play instruments and sequestered them for some time, and then bought studio time. i think they are from boston or northeast for sure. they have done a reunion gig as well . . . no shit.

check out the album info: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000I0QQ/qid=1121663902/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-4651480-1163808?v=glance&s=music&n=507846"]http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00000I0QQ/qid=1121663902/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-4651480-1163808?v=glance&s=music&n=507846[/ame]

i called the thread "strangest track ever" in a reaction the "BEST BAND . . . " thread. it can be easy to dismiss what doesnt sound familiar. there is a connection about the purity of intention in those kids playing final countdown and this shaggs track.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I know, I know...we shouldn't necessarily be too quick to pass judgement on what we hear that doesn't fit into our definition of what is good.

The 'Final Count Down' vid is obviously a bunch of kids in a garage band getting the chance of a lifetime to play on a real stage with real PA. Let's be real...they're living a dream at that moment.

Additionally, the 'Strangest Drum Track Ever' sounds bizarre to the ears of many...but so did 'Bitches Brew' at first listen when it was released. Maybe there's some genius there that I don't understand??

Anyway, thinking back to some of the garage bands I played in in middle and high school sure brings back some interesting memories!!!

    Ha ha, cool.

    [LMAO, CO'D...another funny-fellow Wise-Acre]

True, my first ever band [wayyy pre-"pro"] was a Rush cover one. We were all teen Rush phreekazoids, & we...well...s***ed the Big One.

I was the only one who had my parts down right [img]wink.gif[/img] ...but my meter wass-a not-ta so good-a. But the other 2 guys' was even worse - they were stoners who couldn't rem their parts from time to time [or, never learned them]...I was playg on an old 1-headed [hydraulic to boot!] Fibes 5-pc kit [12, 13, 16"], trying to cop the vibe of those little concert tom rolls! LOL, that s****d! How I longed for the day when i could afford the settled-for roto's on top of that monthly car paymt!

NP had like 4/5 crash, 3 splash, china, 22" ping R, AWA gong & all that perc ATT...I had an old dingy 16" cr that sounded like a 20", a cracked 18" that sounded like a metal garbage can lid, & 20" ride that sounded like a sledge hammer hitting a molten-steel anvil [making a factory cymbal AOT a finished cym] itself! Oh, Lawd hab mercy, the memories. I was very into it, tho. It was fun. Hated my starter kit, tho!!! Left it at another garage band "audition" aft that too, AAMOF!

Say what you will, but we still had way more integrity than that FC/Best Band Ever band!! I'm sorry, but do your kids a fave & don't let them play w ld vox that are SO badly intonated...that defies the def of "vox!" [img]tongue.gif[/img] I bet that was their first - & Final - gig! [Countdown to the last...] I jest...

But i supppose it can be said, & in comparison to my first ever "band," i bet "it was fun!" /;-p

    -----

LOL Doc - I toured w a gtrst from [awa who lived in] "Utica" a few yrs back, for 5 straight yrs! He was a "small-town" quiet-riot!
